The Silica and Moulding Sands Association (SAMSA) is the trade association for the producers of industrial silica sand in the UK. It is one of the constituent bodies of the Mineral Products Association (see www.qpa.org ), the trade association for the aggregate, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete industries.

Bathgate Silica Sand Ltd. produces industrial silica sand from its operation in Sandbach, Cheshire. The original quarry was opened in 1947 and has since been exhausted and a new quarry commenced operations in 1994.
